Queensland Registered Nurse Pay 2025–26

Queensland registered nurses are Nurse Grade 5, paid fortnightly on an eight-paypoint scale. Queensland is unusual in paying a qualifications allowance and offering accelerated paypoint advancement for postgraduate study.

Step into the clinical grades — Clinical Nurse (Nurse Grade 6) starts around $2,184/wk, well above the top RN paypoint. Queensland Health also pays a qualifications allowance and offers accelerated paypoint advancement for Nurse Grades 5–7 and 9, so a relevant postgraduate qualification pays off twice.
